That's right.
In an article called 2012 Doomsday prophecy false, says Canadian archeologist, found on the Deccan Herald we are informed that Professor Kathryn Reese Taylor of the University of Calgary has a problem with how the Mayan ancient stone symbols have been misunderstood or maybe better said abused by people who are intent on cashing in on the Maya texts.
It all started in the 1970's with a social movement towards native spirituality and away from conventional religion. At this point media people, writers, etc., saw an opportunity for a 2012 money making industry and ever since the move to produce false interpretations of end of the world scenarios has been running rampant.
Dr. Kathryn Reese Taylor is Associate Professor and teaches Ancient Civilizations as a social science. This course is described by the University of Calgary as:
The rise and achievements of the earliest civilizations in both the Old and New Worlds. Emphasis is placed on the civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, Mesoamerica and the Andes.
