Initially dominated by Islamic rulers who repeatedly invaded India for about 600 years and the last 200 years of rule by the British almost destroyed and subdued the Hindu culture! Nostradamus could see it forthright that around 2012... Hinduism would again establish itself as foremost of all the world religions.
(Even though Nostradamus Century 1 Quatrain 53 does not directly point towards the year 2012... the happenings as indicated in the four lines of the Nostradamus quatrain Century 1 Quatrain 53 indicate towards the present day scenario)
A great nation solely troubled depicts the fate of United States of America. With passage of time USA which has usurped the status of the watchdog of Mother......

The quatrains are enigmatic and obscure at best. Century 1 Quatrain reads the following way.
Alas, how will we see a great nation troubled,
and the holy law in utter ruin
All Christianity taken over by other laws
when a new source of gold and silver is discovered
The new source of gold and silver could just as easily be interpreted has the printing of fiat currency but it could also be the digital money of the near future. The great nation troubled might indeed be the USA with it's growing international debt. The holy law is today in the hands of extremists who run the countries. Government and Religion are merging and holy law is secondary to the will of dis-eased interpreters of such laws. All Christianity taken over by other laws may not necessarily mean that it is taken over by another holy law. The other law may be a secular law such has militarism. In the USA the evangelical right wing Christians are the law or becoming the law as they manipulate the governing body. This is not unique to america. Men of passion and charisma are convincing the masses all over the world that they are the bearers of the key to the code or the seals of prophecy.
Interpretation of the Quatrain are a very subjective issue.
