13.0.0.0.0 = 3113 2 2012

13.0.0.0.0 is the baktun mayan calendar cycle. It's also 4 ahau 8 cumku. The prediction of most scholars is that the age of change, 3113 BC will conclude in 2012 AD. This cycle is 5126 years in length.

The Mayans like other Mesoamerican civilizations were advanced mathematicians, astronomers, and shaman who understood the power of divinity and metaphysics.
The Mayan were no different than the Europeans in many ways, in some ways they may even have been more advanced. Yet, after thousands of years of intra continental feudal wars the MesoAmerican clan societies were dispersed throughout America. While they may have fought amongst themselves they also grew in knowledge. Hints of one Olmec rituals and culture are found in the Maya and hints of Maya are found in the Aztec and Toltec lineage and hints of Aztec, Toltec, Maya and Olmec are found in the Iroquoie and Cherokee clans.
The whole picture is difficult to draw with accuracy and as with all things in nature change seems to be the only thing that stays the same.
There were early signs of visitors from other lands long before the Spaniards accidently landed on the North American continent. The Vikings, and Egyptians, and maybe even the mythological Atlanteans may have put a claim on the Americas but they never stayed behind long enough to develop civilization on the land. At least that is what mainstream history records. But the Spaniards found success where previous explorers and conquerors had failed.
From the 16th century onward life for the MesoAmerican clans would never be the same. The prophecy of the white man had revealed itself to be true.
With the presence of the European's, little by little the cultural heritage of the Mesoamericans disappeared. Every burnt temple, and every destroyed artifact took away another piece of knowledge from the unity of mankind.
But through the hard work of a select few some of the bits and pieces of the ancient puzzle have been put back together. The picture is a little clearer but is it accurate.
As for the Mayan calendars, the scholars present the long count cycle as a chart measured from the cosmos. This chart is a repetitive cycle of ages which last 5126 years and these scholars tell us that the present cycle is about to end. The end date coincides with a winter solstice. That winter solstice is December 21, 2012. Move back 5126 years and you have 3114 BC. Dig deep enough and you will find that something major happened during those years.
The Mayan were very spiritual people and of those still alive there are many who still are very spiritual. In fact most Native Americans are animistic by nature. Pagan is just a word much as Tzolkin is just a word.
13.0.0.0.0 is the beginning and end of an age. Whether 2012 is 13.0.0.0.0 is a matter of interpretation. Prophecy and predictions are just words.
As Walt Whitman once hinted to in his Season of Leaves or is that Seasons of Grass, ....Nature doesn't give a hoot about words, when a big wave is schedualed to talk then the smaller waves can only follow or be destroyed....
Change is reform and sometimes you need reform to reclaim harmony.

In other words....are we there yet?
