2012 Religious Celebrations

Most people will go on living life as usual when January 1, 2012 rolls around. Each religious faith has it's ritual days marking special people or natural phenomena.

  • The Christians
    • On January 7th 2012,the Eastern Orthodox Christians honor the date of the Julian calendar celebrate Christmas Day.
    • On April 8th 2012, it will be Easter. This day marked to honor the rebirth of Jesus Christ
    • On November 1st 2012, it's All Saints Day
    • On December 25th 2012, the rest of the Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas Day. Unlike the Eastern Orthodox Christians this celebration goes by the time keeping system of the Gregorian Calendar.
  • The Gaelic and other Celtic Pagan Cultures celebrate the first of four festivals marking the changing of time. These are called cross quarter days and fall between a solstice and an equinox.

  • The Islamist follow the Quran and the Prophet Mohammud (praise be his name) .
    • February 5th 2012, Purim
    • June 17th 2012, Lailat al Miraj
    • June 20th 2012, Ramadan
    • August 19th 2012, Id al Fitr
    • November 15th 2012, New Year
  • The Jewish faithful follow Judaism and the Old Testament.
    • March 8th, 2012 is Purim
    • April 7th 2012 will be Passover
    • May 27th 2012 will be Shavuot
    • September 17th 2012 will bring Rosh Hashanah
    • October 1st 2012 will bring Sukkot
    • December 9th 2012 will bring Hanukkah
  • The Neopagans celebrate the changing seasons by observing the equinox and solstice.
    • March 20th 2012, Ostara and the Spring Equinox
    • June 20th 2012, Litha and the Summer Solstice
    • September 21th 2012, Mabon and the Fall Equinox
    • December 21st 2012, Yule and the Winter Solstice
